The annual GYD is hosted in Positioning youth to champion Sustainable Development Goals education agenda.
Global Youth Development Summit is one way that the Centre of Innovation in Teaching and Learning encourages students to explore their interest and passions as an extension of their academic program and in the process better understand themselves, their communities and the world. We host this prestigious event annually with delegates speeches, panels, networking and workshops.
The Summit will take place from 28-30 October 2021, where over 1000 young leaders from all across the globe will gather across the city’s well-known venues in Johannesburg.
Johannesburg, South Africa's biggest city and capital of Gauteng province, began as a 19th-century gold-mining settlement. Its sprawling Soweto township was once home to Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. Mandela’s former residence is now the Mandela House museum. Other Soweto museums that recount the struggle to end segregation include the somber Apartheid Museum and Constitution Hill, a former prison complex.
